    A Message from Our Superintendent

    Dear West Oso Families,

I’m honored and humbled to serve West Oso Independent School District as superintendent. West Oso ISD is a proud, strong, tight-knit community with high academic standards. Our goal is that every single student who graduates from West Oso High School will do so with the skills and knowledge that will equip them to be productive and successful citizens. West Oso ISD is fortunate to have a passionate and committed staff of educators who are willing to do whatever it takes to help our students succeed. Our school board dedicates an extraordinary amount of time and effort to ensuring your children’s needs come first. Our priorities during the 2025–2026 school year will be attendance, academic growth, safety, and communication. Every student will be required to wear their West Oso ISD identification badge daily as part of our commitment to safety. This year, throughout the state of Texas, we will be implementing HB1481, otherwise known as the No Cell Phone policy. Students will not be permitted to use cell phones, iPads, AirPods, smartwatches, or any other personal communication device during the entire school day. This new policy will reduce distraction and drama on campus, allowing our students to maximize their academic potential. We will continue to use the districtwide communication tool, ParentSquare, to share news and information at the campus and district level.

As superintendent, I am committed to transparency, resiliency, unity, and equity. Our theme this year is “Writing Our Legacy Without Limits.” We know that in order for your students to learn, they need to feel safe physically and emotionally. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions and suggestions. Together, we will continue to build a teaching and learning community where every member’s voice is heard, where their needs are met, and where they are able to thrive. We will work through our challenges and celebrate our successes. Welcome to Bear Nation!
